Issuing a full or partial refund
Refund an order completely or partially, and understand fees.
Bitsellfy TeamUpdated June 23, 20262 min readYou can refund any order directly from your Bitsellfy dashboard. Refunds are sent back to the customer's original payment method through Stripe or PayPal.
Note
Refunds can only be issued for orders that have been successfully paid and aren't already fully refunded.
How to issue a refund
- 1Go to Orders & Customers and open the order you want to refund.
- 2Select Refund.
- 3Choose a full refund, or enter a custom amount for a partial refund.
- 4Confirm — the customer is refunded and notified by email automatically.
Partial refunds
Enter any amount up to the order total to issue a partial refund — useful for goodwill gestures or partially fulfilled bundles. You can issue multiple partial refunds until the full amount has been returned.
Important
Payment processors generally don't return their transaction fee on refunds. The customer receives the full amount you refund, but the original processing fee may not be credited back to you.
After a refund
- The order status updates to Refunded or Partially refunded.
- Download access tied to the order is revoked for full refunds.
- Refunds typically appear on the customer's statement within 5–10 business days.
Next steps
To reduce refund requests, make sure your product descriptions set clear expectations and your refund policy is published on your store.
