Creating discount and coupon codes

Create percentage or fixed-amount codes to boost conversions.

Discount codes are one of the simplest ways to drive sales — for launches, seasonal promotions, or rewarding loyal customers. Bitsellfy lets you create flexible codes with limits and expiry dates.

Note

You'll need at least one published product. Discounts can apply to your whole store or to specific products.

Create a discount code

  1. 1Go to Marketing → Discounts and select New discount.
  2. 2Enter a code customers will type at checkout, such as LAUNCH20.
  3. 3Choose a percentage discount (e.g. 20% off) or a fixed amount (e.g. $5 off).
  4. 4Decide whether it applies storewide or only to selected products.
  5. 5Save to activate the code immediately.

Usage limits and expiry

  • Set a total usage cap so a code can only be redeemed a fixed number of times.
  • Limit to one use per customer to prevent repeat redemptions.
  • Add a start and end date to schedule time-limited promotions.
  • Set a minimum order value to protect your margins.

Tip

Time-limited and quantity-limited codes convert better. Pair a code with a countdown in your marketing emails to encourage faster checkout.

Share and track performance

Share your code in emails, social posts, or as a direct checkout link with the code pre-applied. Track redemptions and revenue per code under Marketing → Discounts so you know which promotions work.

Next steps

Combine discounts with cart upsells and an email campaign to make the most of every promotion.
